Welcome to Chiarrai Kennel !
My name is Aini Suomalainen. I live with my husband Pekka and two wonderful kerry blue terriers in Sipoo, Finland surrounded by the beauty of the nature.
The first time I saw a kerry was in the Helsinki Exhibition & Convention Centre Dog Show in -87.
I immediately fell in love with the breed and in the following spring there was a kerry "Elli" at my home.
About a year after, Elli got company of "Mona". Both girls originated from Blue Moonlight- kennel. Along the years the enthusiasm kept growing and Elli had one litter.
At that time, I left "Arinna"-girl at home from the litter with a thought to continue the breeding. However, my daily work then took the most of the time available- so the idea was left developing.
In 2004, we got "Ira", Geijes Zinna's Soul from the Geijes kennel. Ira got six puppies of which "Dolly", Geijes Diamond Doll stayde at home and started a new era.
I took the breeder's training course and founded my kennel. Selecting a suitable name for it took a lot of consideration. I came up with a traditional Irish name ciarrai, kerry, of which "Chiarrai" represents a variant.
I will keep my breeding work i a small scale. I try to pay special attention to kerry's character and breed standard.
